Tim I do not want to sound like an idiot but I have been trying to make money for years... I make enough to pay a few bills but not enough to quit the 9 to 5 job. I feel like I have hit a ceiling and nothing I do expands. I know you get paid a lot for consulting etc. but is there anyway you could take a look at my stuff and give me some advice?

Kees, you are absolutely right, the term "backend" does in most cases refer to database etc.. In the instance I am referring to a separate page of the site. I have had huge success with this strategy, for a few reasons.

1. It adds value for your website visitors. If they find value in your resource directory they will tell others.

2. Search engines love directories. (tightly themed directories)

3. It is easier to gain page ranking for directory pages because of their linking structure than it is any other type of pages (this information is based on my own private research).

Hi, thanks for sharing.
Wondering what you mean by "a link directory on the backend of his site". A website backend is normaly refered to as underlaying techniques like a database "backend".
Do you mean "a link directory on the footer of his site "? Or perhaps "a link directory on a separate page on his site"?

Hey Peter,

You are absolutely right about outbound links (and some should be do follow on your site according to Google's Matt Cutts.)

Yes Comments do play a major roll in SEO and this is why so many jackasses spam the hell out of the hard working peoples blogs. For example your link :D "directory submission service" I do not mind links like that on my blog because it is beneficial to my readers as well as it fits the themes.

I have some ass that is constantly posting things about gym shoes that I have to combat. If that person would spend as much time actually working VS looking for easy quick cash they would probably make some real money online.

Outbound links do not affect a page ranking, well, if not related to gaming links are legit and so on. One
interesting thing about comments is that often seek a sentence of term
and Google ranks well the comments that contain the phrase you are
looking for. Now it is a SEO benefit, right?
